Ride and Emotions? Not quite going well, isn’t? hold on to that thought people 😊
“Spine-tingling”— emotion felt by our Captain Santhosh when he saw 24 CB350s cruising through curves of Marayoor-Munnar mountain-way, all geared up with neon rain liners.
“Spell-bound”— exact word to be used to describe our Knights’ minds when they experienced the hefty mists of Munnar in Suryanelli route…
In Tamizh there is a beautiful word “Pasalai” which depicts the feeling of loneliness, separation, and missing the loved ones. Among we riders there is a feeling worse than that. THE NIGHT BEFORE THE RIDE. Time will not move, you will not get sleep, will go out and check your bike for “n” number of times, checking whether the fellow riders slept or not, etc. No, No, this is not that LOVE but LOVE for riding.
All the 25 Knights were in Sync on May 13th night with ANXIETY. It is to the extent, where I and Jagadeesh went to Santhosh’s home at 1AM where few other Characters were camped. We gathered, laughed, helped each other to mount luggage and started at 2AM sharp to meeting point.
One thing I really like about Knights—Punctuality. They didn’t disappoint me this time as well and we stormed into highways, 3AM sharp.
Early morning rides are not easy, in fact they are tricky. But with guidance from group Captains Ramesh, Abbas, Balaji and Sweeps Jayapal, Jiju, and Santhosh it was rather made easy. In second tea break at Ulunthurpet, our Gurunathar “Wiki” Varadhan joined the pack (also the late comers Venu and Rakesh 😜). Knight’s thunderstorm hit Perambalur Ashwin’s sharply at 8AM for breakfast. After quick photo session we headed towards Trichy-Musiri route for Udumalaipet and we reached there by 1PM for lunch. Video master Gops joined us here from Bangalore (that’s how Knights pull people from all corners like magnets 😊).
Fun begun when we started climbing the mountains with super coordination. The closer we got to Munnar, better the experience was. We crossed dense reserve forests, rare sandalwoods, happy faces who were eager to capture us in their mobile phones and reached Munnar town around 5PM. For a rookie rider like me, the stretch of 25kms from Munnar to Suryanelli is a life-time experience. It was fog and fog only with ZERO visibility and we all should thank Abbas for guiding us to Camp stay (part of contingent was in Munnar buying ESSENTIALS and they reached late lead by Captain Ramesh). The pack got settled after dinner and chit-chats.
May 15th didn’t start as we planned as Kolukkumalai was closed due to extreme weather. But one closed door will always open another and here comes Danny (Captain Ramesh’s friend) who helped us explore one of the untouched heavens of Munnar, Sathurangapetta Para. The ride and enroute to this place to be cherished forever. We stopped in couple of places in between, captured memories, gave exercise to our Wiki’s drone, but left speechless as soon as we arrived on scenic view of Sathurangapara. There were layers to viewpoints in this place and our Knights touched them all. Photography skills of fellow Knights was put into proper test here. We descended, had authentic Kerala lunch at Poombara and returned to room for much awaited bonfire.
Any trip will be incomplete without gathering, party and Knights planned perfectly to make evening of May 15th as memorable one. Boy, they have done that in grand style (thanks for Rakesh). Every Knight was given opportunity to speak their mind and it was all fun with music, dance, what not (Oh, I forgot to mention in party mode: Venky, Shafi, and Thousif welcome to KnightRyder’s family).
With heavy start we started on May 16th morning and reached Chennai back by 10PM.
It was short and no emotions, right? WAIT.
Not once but twice the pack was unpacked with some coordination issue before noon on day 1. There were arguments, angry faces. Nothing affected the ride further. that’s what we call BROTHERHOOD.
Gops reached Udumalaipet at 11.30, whereas rest of the pack reached at 1.30PM. He waited for 2 hours without heading to Munnar alone. Might not sound big deal, but we call this as COMMITMENT.
The Camp we shortlisted for 2 days stay was not meeting our requirements. There was disappointment, tired faces, arguments. Yet so quickly we arranged alternative place to stay (HUGE thanks for Rakesh and Benny), moved there with great spirit (like Shankar driving in Lungi). TOGETHERNESS.
There were so many people capturing our pack in videos. We are not the first group they witness, but we make difference in the way we ride and infuse HAPPINESS to others.
Our beloved Maams, Ramesh Dhanapal met with a small accident but managed to continue ride without issues due to safety measures he followed. He just showcased group about importance of safety gears. AWARENESS.
We Knights are carrying emotions in all our rides. Because we are not riding as group but as FAMILY. In the end what FAMILY is without emotions.
My first BLOG for Knights. Wish I write and Ride with Knights as long as I can. If you are reading this as non-member of Knights, why wait? Buy CB350, join us for rides, become part of family and feel the rides of emotions.
