Quote from The Knight Ryders on February 15, 2022, 5:17 amHere is some insight on type of petrol selection for Honda CB350. Some people are using normal fuel and let’s have a clarity on which fuel is better and what is recommended one for our vehicle.
Honda recommends us to use the fuel having Octane number 91 or higher.
So how do we know which fuel has 91 or higher?
Regular or normal petrol has octane number varies from 87-90 which is basically below Honda’s recommendation so not preferred.
Speed/Power/Premium/Shell V petrol have octane number from 91-94 hence recommended to use for CB350.
Why high Octane fuel is recommended?
CB350 Engine is designed and tested with such fuel selection
Gives better power and fuel efficiency
Avoids engine knocking sounds over long run
Eliminates deposits over fuel intake valves and fuel injection system, less deposits will provide smooth riding feel.
Enhances riding experiences with power fuel
Helps for longer engine life
Less emissions from the exhaust meaning better for our environment.
Using lower octane fuel will reduce engine performance
When filling the fuel avoid filling above lower edge of filler neck as recommended by Honda.
Take proper care to avoid dirt/water entering the fuel tank
Preferably use select fuel station and use only unleaded petrol with octane number 91 or higher as much as possible. Filling fuel at evening or night is recommended over day time.
