Drive Chain Slack Gauge - The slack in drives running horizontally should be between 1 – 2 % of the length of the center distance. To measure the slack, pull the loose thread taut with your fingers and measure the distance (slack D).

Do not use WD-40 (yellow and blue can), 3-in-1 oil, motor oil, or Liquid Wrench. Instead, buy a small bottle of chain lube (use WET lube for wet riding conditions, DRY lube for dry riding conditions).
