ACCOMPLISHED— that’s how we Knights felt after the completion of our ride on August 7, 2022, marking 75th Independence Day with 75 riders. Road to that Attainment was not a cakewalk though.
Please read my fellow Knight Ananth’s blog about that wonderful day in forum, here I am also going to walk you through road leading to August 7.
75 Riders for 75th Independence Day; brainchild of our TKR Admin members; and never ever we dispersed without discussing this in any of the catchups, tea meetings in last four months. Well, how we executed this?
Work started in full swing after July 11, 2022, but the basement was laid by Jiju, Santosh, Bala Kandaswamy, Captain Ramesh, Balaji, and Varadhan in all the past trips, meetups. Without their vision this would not have been possible.
Planning and envisioning are first steps, but the real deal is executing it in field. Team Leads volunteered for this, without a doubt pulled this impeccably. Thanks to Jagadeesh, Raj Mano, Jithin, Shabi, Ramesh Dhanapal, Thousif, Vivek, and pat on my back as well. We also acknowledge the support from Jayapal, Gopal, Prasanna, Abbas, Eliyaaz, and Rakesh for sorting things out in starting points. Special mention to Shabi for arranging morning snacks in school for riders.
So many calls, WhatsApp Groups, invites, planning, fund collection, sponsorship, and all lead to this “Ride for Cause”. How we did this on The Day?
To avoid traffic and not to disturb others in road, our riders started from different parts of the city (Anna Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Guindy, Porur, Tambaram, and Sholinganallur) and assembled at the destination (Don Bosco School, Vyasarbadi). We gathered, laughed, got introduced and then congregated for this once in lifetime event.
Proceedings started with introductory note from our Captain Ramesh, followed by speech from Father at Don Bosco. National Flag was hoisted by senior citizens, then comes the important part: motivational speech. Sriram Manoharan (Founder of Contus) nailed that to perfection. He expressed in such a way that not only kids in that gathering but all the Knights were motivated to do well in life. Our fellow Knight Vivek was exceptional in sharing his experience with the Kids.
Our Knights Family and Contus have given books, desktops to school. Representatives from KUN also showed their generosity with monetary help for school. We also assured to help old age home/school with civil repair works.
Kids from school showcased their talent in Silambam and Dance. One little Macho’s Independence Day speech on how most of our generation are addicted to Android, Alcohol, and Drugs is seriously a reality check for anyone (slap in face for many though 😊).
We ended the event with Captain Ramesh’s thanks note (by the way, both his intro and thank you note given by his son Dileep 😊) and followed by delicious breakfast.
Knights also swinged their bikes with Kiddos in pillion and we were so happy to see the smiles that brought to their face.
Goodbyes are hard, but those byes waived? We felt ACCOMPLISHED.
Finally: biking culture is on raise here in Tamil Nadu and all over India. There were so many groups, vloggers, etc. But there is a myth/negativity running around bikers; that we are SPEEDING and RACING. We are NOT them. We ride for passion, purpose, and brotherhood with SAFETY. This is just a beginning where we have started giving back to society. Have you seen our Logo? Headlight with WINGS! Well that WINGS just got bigger. We are hoping to give back more for society and pull more birds under these WINGS.
Until next time, See Ya!

Your blog captures it.
Thank you, Vivek.
Well written. Happy to be a part of the program. The smiles on the faces of the kids was the biggest accomplishment in my opinion.
